I just finished refurbishing an assortment of used wheels from various forum members! I think the end result looks really nice :nanner: but I had real problems getting paint to stick and am not certain the job will last. A local parts store convinced me to use an "adhesion agent" prior to primer and top coat .. and I am convinced that this product actually inhibited the primer from hardening to the prepared surface.
Has anybody else used these products with success?

I recently painted some aluminum and used an adhesive agent, primer and then paint. The result was better than I expected - a very durable finish. If it helps, the brand was Dupont. Aluminum is difficult to paint, an adhesive agent does help (usually).
