I was ordering this kit last october, get some of the part last december.

If you would have done a search here before purchasing, it probably would have saved you $6530 X2. I live just minutes from there and have to walk my dogs in a few so can check if they're still in business but check out the threads regarding Joe McCarthy and see for yourself.

They are different and the last I heard, not on good terms. Have talked to Tom on the phone in the past and met Joe, who originally worked for Tom. Tom had a good reputation and put a number of S1 conversions on the road before the S2 Fed car was introduced. Haven't heard anything about Sun lately but it was a reputable company...Dave

sunspeed was not joe - sunspeed was around for a long time, they were importing track cars into the US (s1 elises, renaults, etc..) back in the late 90's early 2000 and doing some conversions. (holding onto the bygone grey market dream) there are a few sunspeed s1's in the US.

I do not know who owns the sunspeed name now.

but the name was fairly reputable back in the day - haven't heard anything about them in many many years though :shrug: i contacted them back in '99'ish about importing an s1 - but there were way to many "if" and "should" and "probably's" involved. fed's were not aligned as well.

tom (sun international/sunspeed) imported and federalized my ford cosworth before moving on to the elise stuff. last i heard, they weren't doing much but the organization should still exists at that address by the torrance airport.

Joe worked for Sunspeed, hence the similarities in business practices.

Sorry to tell you this, but I drove past that address last night on the way to a business dinner just to see if Sunspeed was on any of the buildings on that street...none I could see. That does not mean it isn't there, just no obvious sign that I saw.

actually they've never had a big sign on their building ever. so i wouldn't expect there to be one now. you gotta go up and pound on the door and hope they answer

Hello Ingarh! Yvo from elise-shop.nl has the same problem. He payed in october and got nothing. Is your kit for S1 or S2? Which parts do you have and which do you need?
