Looks like SVAG is about to receive or has already received a couple of
vehicles, at least one of which was not ordered by a person on our list
below. Not surprising since 6 of the top 10 spots are unaccounted for.

Are there any lurkers out there who would like to supply info below to
help fill in the missing holes here? If yes, please respond or send me
a PM and I will endeavor to keep this list updated (in this location).
Thanks Steve and Ylshih for keeping the other thread up to date!

To fill in some of the blanks about the first two customer cars, there black and yellow with touring pack. On the transport Friday, so it may be Monday or Tuesday before the lucky owners take delivery. If you haven't been contacted yet, hope we didn't ruin the surprise. :)

Larry, thanks for a nice tracking list. You can add TP and SP codes to my order. MattG also has a HT.

Another tidbit, SVAG cars #10-11-12-13 have a Sept bulid date. Being #11 expected delivery date is mid to late Oct.

I just called and spoke to Harry Osborn at SVAG. I placed deposit with Joe originally who is no longer with SVAG so Harry inhereted my account I gather.

He told me I was number 37 (wich is close to what I was originally told by Joe when I placed my deposit on 9/20/3). This is very different from 20-30 range given in a table here though.

He also told me cars were somehwere on the boat in Atlantic still. This obviously contradicts with previous message about possible Monday delivery.

I'm not paying much attention to all this info. It seems no one knows anything for sure.

The info I posted comes from the guy who tracks cars/orders for SVAG. The one the sales guys would have to go to in order to get the details. In checking on the demo car Friday he mention two customer cars are on the transport on the way to the dealership. There are other boats on the way. MattG ship is due in July 31.

Some of it could be tighted up. For example no cars in June. The grouping may have come from the other SVAG thead as we get updates we can update the list, for example moving apkom down to #37, etc.

It's been a while since I'd drop by. Are they now open on Sundays?

Hi Larry!

They must have been open when I called in. Sales guy who answered the phone passed it on to Harry who I spoke with. so at least two people were there.
I did not actully drive there. I was in the mood to do a short mountain run in my MR2 and stop at their's to check the demo I though they might have. But no demo yet, so I staid home.

It's so weird being home along Sunday (wife works on Sundays). Usually I'm at autoX event on Sunday so this works out well but today there are none withing 200mile distance. So I decided to call and check on my car after watching some speedchannel ;-)

Every Sunday morning that I've got a chance like to do a short loop 9-skyline-84. Didn't get my MR2 fix this weekend. :(

Good/bad news on the demo. It's at port (had a May bulid date) but didn't make the first transport.

That's exactly the thing I had in mind.
Next time I'll ask you beforehand ;-)

Interesting observation I made recently. I used to like Mnt. Hamilton drives years ago driving regular cars. Few weeks ago I was returning from autoX event at Atwater and decided to take Mines road and go through Junction and the mountain. Even though I only have stiffer TRD front sway bar running stock springs on my MR2 and ran my shocks at softest settings it felt so bumpy I hated that ride. Stiffer sidewals of race tires must have contributed to that. I wonder if LSS would have felt better or worse.

HWY9 is much better.

Add me to the list

I put my deposit down on 10/10, so I'm not sure when my delivery will be as I haven't ordered the config yet.

Cheers,
Ed

you can add me too.....

I put my deposit down 10/15. I was originaly told I'd be in the high 40's but last I heard it was mid 50's. I just called SVAG today and got no information about deliveries. I mean none, zip, nada, zilch, nil.

It was almost funny. Anyone find out anything from SVAG lately???

keeping hope alive...

cheers,

eric

Right now, dealers only have information on deliveries for the first few months of production (which is quite a small number of cars).

I'm STILL here...

I bought a new Corvette a month and a half ago :) after sitting in an S1 Elise and deciding I would spend much of my time getting in :( and the rest of it getting out:mad:

I've since sat in a federal car and have decided not to cancel my order. I'm #19, ordered March 1st  , spec'd saffron base model, and hope for delivery in Roctober:D

CDubYa- Wow two fun toys in the same year. Congrat on fitting & sticking with the Elise. SVAG will have cars 10-13 bulit in Sept. At full production you should make a Oct built, Nov. delivery date.

Talked to my salesman yesterday. No new info. He expressed a bit of chagrin about the lack of information, but added that my spot (#40), is actually a pretty good one -- that by the time I need to order, I'll have plenty of pics of all color choices; that cars in my build group will benefit from bugs being worked out; and that I'll be in the next order group -- whenever that will be, no one knows. He reiterated that all cars in the first order group should be delivered in 2004, and that I'm probably looking at Q1 2005 -- which is exactly what I've been exepcting.

In short: no new info, but also no rude surprises.

I'd have to check my receipt to be sure, but I think I'm #64. I'm thinking about CO, SP, HT, black interior. I need to see the seats before I decide on the touring package.

Qship - the Club111 picnic this Saturday is a great chance to check out SVAG's demo car - CO, black touring interior. I'm not sure if the hardtop will be installed or not.

I stopped by SVAG after the 111 meet yesterday, and Clayton told me I was #44 on the list.

The GM Mark said he thought SVAG would be getting about 100 cars/year, not counting the ramp-up.

Best,
John

Great news (I think)! Depends upon ramp up of course :)

I finally looked at the list clustering and I have a question for all those folks that ordered around 10/10 - 10/15. Was this AFTER you saw the Road and Track article? Or was that completely unrelated to your ordering?

Larry

PS
It was great meeting you and the other EliseTalkers at the NorCal Club111/GGLotus meet.

Larry --

On 10/10 the R&T article was definitely out to subscribers; however I don't think I had actually gotten a copy by then. I'm pretty sure it had not hit the news stands, at least most places.

I put down a deposit after some BMW friends started talking seriously about getting one (presumably after reading R&T). Prior to this point, I had dismissed the Elise as a toy-car for the super-rich with notorious reliability, an undisclosed MSRP and a dealer that wanted $5k over sticker. I had even heard the deposits were non-refundable. Clearly a bit of "telephone" going on here on some of those points... and on others perhaps not far from the truth at all. :D

Obviously I should have done my homework sooner, but oh well, I'm glad I put a deposit down when I did and not any later.

In conclusion, I would say R&T did factor into my decision to put down a deposit for a car at least indirectly - the information conveyed to me presented the Elise as a downright affordable sports car "ordinary" people could aspire to own and maybe even use as a daily driver.

As far as the ramp-up is concerned, Mark implied that by December things would be in full swing. Hopefully he's right :).

Larry, it was great meeting you as well as the other ET'ers at the meet Saturday.

Best,
John
