Hi All:

Looks like Team Elite is trying a new power plant and a second chassis. Here's hoping!

Team Elite Lotus will be running a Judd GV5 V10 for the remainder of the ALMS 2004 season. The 5 litre powerplant should greatly improve a number of performance characteristics of the former GT1 chassis. A second chassis will be developed.

At Sebring the team was plagued with numerous problems stemming form the just constructed car and the lack of prior testing. They were basically starting with a blank page as far as data and set-up but still managed to make some progress in learning the car.

Extensive testing is planned to sort out the car and get on track for Mid-Ohio which will only have one Audi in the field. The LMP1 class should be a good battle as more teams have a good chance at attaining a podium finish.

Speaking as someone who works with Team Elite, I can confirm that no decision has been made with regards the Judd GV5 engine...

As a matter of fact, the chances are that the Judd will not be the engine of choice...

All the best
