I am very interested. How do I participate?
Easy. Show up at the date, time, and location which will be posted in a bit. You will not regret it. Just be careful, the Bear Mountain Annual Cruze is another addition. Once there, you will not be able to miss it.

Well all, we are getting closer to the date and as you can guess from Rick's entries, we've been pretty busy. :crazyeyes

All you need to do is be at the Lake Welch Parking Lot in Harriman State Park at 8am sharp.

Be gassed up and ready to go.

How many "groups" will depend on how many folks show up.

There is an event created for this BMC in the FB group "Lotus Owners and Enthusiasts" and it shows 46 "Going" and 77 "Interested" so there could be a very large showing.

As aforementioned, lunch will be at Barnstormers BBQ (it will be separate checks).

Clich here >Map for Lake Welch

Below are some pics from our Wednesday outing (and a little something else ).

ps BTW, "Safety" will be Rule #1

FYI (last time I got people mad at me)

I will be heading up to Bear Mtn this Wednesday, August 31 early morning.

Checking out the routes again (that's what I tell my wife), chili @ Barnstormers with a couple of brews then calling it a day.

Anyone interested in joining me, send me a message.

BTW, looks like there will be another exotic car group joining us as well on September 25, something like another 15-20 cars.

Well, hope to see you all then!

A couple of things;

1. Because of the great response this year, parking at Barnstormers will be very tight indeed which makes the "staging" very critical. As we leave Perkins Memorial and head to Barnstormers, people will have to line up along Rt. 9W and wait as I stage the cars. Please put on your "emergency flashers" at this time and be patient. You will be allowed the minimal amount of space needed to park and exit your car, so please keep this in mind. If you expect to leave Barnstormers early, you may want to think about parking around the corner instead.

2. Since Geoff (Barnstormer's owner) has been nice enough to honor separate checks for now as well as in the past, he has requested the following:
"Please bring cash for lunch. A twenty ($20) should be enough to cover lunch. Paying with credit cards will greatly increase how long it takes to get back out on the road!".

I appreciate you cooperation and participation for our friendly get-together.

Bunch of damn roosters!!!

BTW, I don't stop on shoulders of highways unless 100% necessary. Seen too many accidents reported and way too easy to p/u a tire puncture.

Yeah, the weather gods are with us.

Gil, not sure about your highway comment but would love to have you along (I am looking for a wingman). -poke-

And yes Atwell, I am looking forward to the Cruze! :coolnana:

This will be my last official ride for 2016, this winter, if all goes well, supercharger (Katana), new suspension (Nitron Singles), cruise control (MWR) and some paint & new starshield coverage are in order to keep my coffers empty!

C ya Sunday!

Well the weather looks perfect for our Lotus cars!

According to the FB Event as well as the e-mails and texts I'm getting, there could be as many as 40 cars attending (all sorts of makes and models).

This will probably be the biggest turn out yet!

Sunday, Sept. 25, Lake Welch Parking lot (in Harriman State Park, New York), @ 8am, be gassed up.

C ya!

A well earned congratulations to our esteemed Bear Mountain Cruze director.

O Lee O won the "best in class" at the Log 36 concours this summer for his Persian Blue 2011 Elise, as seen in the pictures in this thread. The best is that Lee drives his car like a banshee and spent a track weekend with me driving at NJMP. This Elise is no garage queen.

Well, thanks for the kind words Rick!

Actually, I was kinda shocked when my Elise won, there were so many other cars there that deserved to win as well.

Funny thing about your garage queen comment, as you and other people who know me will attest to;

I do, I drive my Elise and usually drive it hard (when I can safely) but on the other hand, I try to keep her clean and shiny as possible.

But to a degree I've never experienced in my life before. Every crack and crevice that I can access, gets cleaned. A sickness? My wife says so.

I think it's a love thing, I love the way the Elise looks with all the right curves and I think I lucked out with the Persian Blue.

She's a 2011 with just over 41,000 miles on her.

To show you how "sick" I am, I am attaching a photo that I took in July of my front driver's side wheel well. Remember the car has 40,000 hard miles on it.

While I'm sharing pics, it seems that I haven't posted any pics from this year's Cruze, so here you are.

1. The morning line up @ Lake Welch.

2. Atop of Bear Mtn. @ Perkins Memorial.

3. And the group who stayed for lunch @ Barnstormer's.

What I have learned during my Elise ownership is there is only one thing that is better than seeing a Lotus on the road and that seeing a sh!tload on Lotus cars on the road!

That's why I love doing the Bear Mtn. Cruzes and will continue to do so.

So see you next year and the 6th Annual BMC!

ps did you notice how I used the correct plural version?

Hope your better other does not read this thread. Your esteemed wife may be jealous of your car! :wink2:

Sorry guys..

Just search Facebook for BMC 6 (Bear Mtn. Cruze #6)

It's listed as a PRIVATE event, maybe Lee needs to invite you...
