I took the wheels off and removed my LSS shocks to sent to Phil at BOE for modification. Of course had to put the car on jack stands. I put the two in the front and removed the difuser to place two at the rear, but when I let the car down, one of the stands didn't even touch. I guess it is a 1/4 inch or so shorter than the other...

How cool is the stiffness of these chassis? Its been three days and the chassis hasn't even flexed enough to move the 1/4 inch down to the fourth stand! I love this car!

Whenever I jack up the car, I make sure the jackstands are at the same "cog" so I don't have that problem. I've done this so many times (including track prep today for this weekend's Lotus Challenge Series) that I've lost count...

Not really a problem! It stayed like this until today (5 days) when I got the BOE modified shocks back and put the wheels back on (lower ride height is very cool too).

Just amazing to me that the chassis is so stiff it doesn't even flex 1/4 of an inch in the rear right under the engine!

I can't imagine an American made car that is that stiff. Corvette? Viper? Doubt it, but could be wrong.

Actually, by today's standards, the Elise isn't really all that stiff. Depending on where you get your figures, the Elise measures out at 10,000 Nm per degree. Compare that to the Evora which is 26,000 Nm per degree.

My driveway is fairly steep so I have to hit it at a 45deg to prevent scraping. The downhill front wheel always lifts about 4" off the pavement when I drive up towards the garage (pretty darn stiff chassis!).

Today, my neighbor was doing lawn work when I pulled in. I stopped where I knew the wheel would be off the ground; got out of the car and whistled to the neighbor, then proceeded to spin the wheel by hand. He had a good chuckle.rotfl

Interesting! I wonder how a weight to stiffness ratio would compare to these others? Obviously the Evora is similar and newer technology, but the steel chassis cars?
