I live in a state without Lotus dealership in driving distance (MN) and I'm about to begin searching for a shop I can trust to drill into my crossmember to install BOE toe links, and not scratch/harm the car while it's in their shop.

What do you do when looking for a shop? What's the trick?

I know it's popular to bring your lotus to a ferrari dealership or something, but do they really give the added respect to the car one hopes for? And isn't it possible to get the same quality elsewhere?

In general...

Go to largest, best independent parts store in area. Ask them who fixes their cars.

Contact local members of car clubs. If not for your car, anything close will do.

Your job is easy enough for almost any good shop with alignment will do.
