Just a heads up ... I noticed Tire Rack has their Yokohama A048 LTS's on sale right now. (Don't know for how long)

Fronts - $249/ea
Rears - $272/ea

Shipping is like $30 for a pair.

I'm not affiliated with Tire Rack in any way, but generally pay $330 per tire for rears there, and $275 each for fronts. ...just wanted to let others know about a good deal if you are in the market for a new set.

BTW guys... I called TireRack, spoke with Charlie...
Seems these are in stock - and have them (for us CA folks) out in Nevada...
Sounds like moderate stock for fronts, a bit more for rears...
no info on how long the special runs...

I think this is a steal of a deal... rubber is from 2013~
checked with TR on above details~

Yup! Glad I waited. I just ordered a set of rears, $25 shipping... and if you want, you can delay the shipment up to 10days (since I don't want them arriving in our -20degree lovely weather)

What's the difference between the "regular" A048's and the LTS version. Apart from the LTS being more expensive.

Cheers.

From what I experianced, the 048's have more initial grip but they hear cycle fast and can be heat cycled out with plenty of tread left. Turn in on the 048's is much quicker than the R888's. R888's have the grip of mid life 048's but they hold that grip all the way to cording the tires

The LTS is made lighter with polyester cords and lighter sidewalls.

I do have to say they I was shocked on how rough the ride was on the 048's even with their lighter sidewalls. The R888's give a supple ride and are very smooth. Both were a bit loud with 3-4000 miles on them

Bummer, just purchased a set about 2 months ago! Good buy! The side by side comparison with the R888 shows the AO48's at 1lb/corner lighter on the fronts and 3lbs/corner on the rears.

Weird. Tire Rack isn't currently showing any Yoko A048s... maybe site maintenance?
