I read this in several car magazines. Toyota wants out of the sportcar segment. What does this mean for the 2ZZ-GE? I hope they source it in the Matrix-R and new Corolla SRS. I'd hate to see the aftermarket and TRD support evaporate.

Mark my words--the Celica will reappear in the Scion line. I just hope the MR2 comes back in a couple of years. I read an article stating that Toyota is concentrating on their bread and butter: sedans and SUVs.

Which is all the more reason they need a partnership with Lotus to illustrate their technology & engineering can power world class performance cars.

I tend to agree with you there. Scion is doing exceptionally well and with the tC they are trying to take a crack at the civic. It's well priced for what you get.
