Hi folks,

Probably not a common issue but if anyone has experienced this situation or has any theories that would be great. Problem happened during a track event.

My shifter is freely moving the full distance back and forth (as in 3-4-3). There is no "notch" or resistance at any point in that travel, and it has zero lateral movement anywhere.

Tranny is engaged in 3rd and the clutch is fully operational.

Sounds like a linkage issue rather than a tranny one, curious about why the lack of lateral movement.

Any tips or links to info on our tranny would be much appreciated.

Broken shifter cables would be my guess. Could be at either end but typically in the rear just behind the mounts.

Update in case it helps someone later: it was a broken cable, right up front by the shifter.

Based on where it broke, the marks on the plastic sleeve and the routing it would seem like a problem that will happen again to those of us that are enjoying our cars as intended.

We ordered an extra cable to minize downtime, they are fairly cheap < $90.

Onwards.
