I have an 05 Katana that experienced a supercharger failure, it's a very sad story, as I have a lot of things to fix or replace. An unexpected find was this crack in the center case. It appears to have started in a threaded hole.

I experienced some wheel hop when I drove the car on a cooler day, I thought maybe the rubber was cold and stiff and promoted it.

Has Anybody else seen a failure like this? I can't rule out an improper torque to yield process. What's your guess?

Wow dude, that's horrible. I have never seen a case crack like that before unless it sustained an accident impact.
I do not think that is salvagable even though aluminum can be welded. It will never have the same strength.

Sorry.
