Aside from the obvious "carry another key", what options are there to open the Elise trunk? I've seen an aerocatch implementation, but you're a creative bunch - what else has been done?

Trunk PITA

I didn't like how the Elise didn't have a cable release and having to take the key out of the ignition switch was annoying. But I had a 6 pack cooler in the trunk one time and somehow it hit the lock and I couldn't get the trunk to open with the key. A locksmith came and couldn't get it open we ended up drilling out the lock and at that time I was like screw the lock. I installed hood pins from a speed shop. And I didn't know what to do with the hole so I ended up getting a 64ish MGB trunk latch and just installed it for looks and something to grab to open the trunk. I'm sure it's not for everyone but I like it. Here's the best pictures I could find on my FB account, I'm out of country right now.

- Chuck Risen was working on something. I believe MadisonArt has it on his car. Hit them up

The 2010-11 has a remote release but it won't fit in S2 cars

A little different but someone on the board had developed a hydraulic cylinder lift kit for the hatch. You still had to open with a key but it lifted by itself once you unlocked it.
