Hey folks, future Exige owner here (hopefully within a few months). One of the reasons I'm choosing an Exige over an Elise is the exclusivity factor. This rarity factor has driven me to really track down how many cars are out there. I've been working on this spreadsheet for about 2 months now, off and on. I've pooled together other people's efforts (Vishus_1 for 2009 260's.. etc) and an enormous amount of research on my own to create this database. I'd like to give future and current owners a glimpse of what their car has been through, as well as the rarity of their year, color, and option combination of their car.

I've searched hundreds of dealer ads, for sale threads, and dealer websites. I've googled about 80/90% of the VIN's I currently have housed in the spreadsheet. I've also carfax checked every VIN as well. My database currently contains 790 Exiges ranging from 2006 to 2011, including Cup Cars, 2008 Club Racers, and the latest wave of Final/Matte Edition cars. I believe I also have roughly 10-15 cars that are Japanese, Canadian, or Euro cars as well. I project there are just over 1000 Exiges in the US from the 2006 to 2011 model years.

Here is the Google Doc spreadsheet. This is not the live version that I am still updating, but I did not want to wait until I had every VIN to unveil it. Please make suggestions and post edits in this thread.

The carfax check is simply taking the below url and appending the complete VIN to see whether Carfax has any records for that particular vehicle. I am only able to see how many records, not the records themselves. This raises the point that a vehicle may be in the United States that has never had a record reported to Carfax; for instance a vehicle ordered directly from Lotus and delivered as a track toy for someone that will never register it for the street. However, these cars are going to be quite rare.

I've used the VIN algorithm to create all possible VINs (between serial number 0 and 3500) for every year, and special edition. (2006's require a different algorithm than 2006 Cup Cars, for example.) For 9 complete editions of the Exige:

2006
2006 Cup Car 240
2007
2007 Cup Car 255
2008
2008 Club Racer
2009
2010
2011

I've got 3500 potential VINs for each edition (a total of 31,500 VIN numbers to search through on CarFax). I've only searched through a total of 3000 VINs on my own through my CarFax check.

I do look for patterns in the VINs to avoid giving myself additional work. I noticed that the majority of 2008 Club Racers were showing up in the 250-400 serial number range. So knowing that there were only 20 of these cars, I decided I could search this range until I found all 20 and sure enough I found them all. So I only searched roughly 200 VINs instead of the full 3500 I had available from that algorithm.

I've also noticed that serial numbers are not absolutely unique. For instance these two cars share the same serial number, although I've never seen two cars of the same year share a serial number.

S 240 SCCWC11169HL80277 0277 2009 Solar Yellow
CRacer SCCVC11138HL80277 0277 2008 Club Racer Blue

Please feel free to use this thread to search through my spreadsheet and locate any discrepancies or add information that is missing. Ideally, I'm shooting for 90-95% of all Exiges in America accounted for in this database. I'm also really hoping that any of you dealers that have access to VIN information are able and willing to give me some assistance and ease the research burden ahead.

I've got 2010 Exige 10374, Solar Yellow, original owner, 5,100 miles as of 12/23/11 in CA.
Couldn't enter the data directly in the spreadsheet.

Your information is perfect. I would prefer everyone give their input as responses to this thread..

Don't worry about entering it in the spreadsheet, I'm keeping the live version on my machine and will continue to upload an edited version as new information comes in.

Updated the spreadsheet with all of the responses in the thread.

Also added about 90 cars today with a total of 739 Exiges. Finished out the 2006's with a total of 338. I saw in a thread someone had heard, seen, knew of 332 serial numbers that had been imported for the US. So it was not that far off, plus some of those serial numbers may be Canadian etc...

Added all of your car's/appended your additional information.

I'm up to 775 Exiges in the database. I'm guessing around 70-75% accounted for U.S. Exiges. If don't wish to publicly post your VIN, just PM me and I'll add it.

Hmm. Just came across 1431. Not my car, so I won't say where, but…

It's Carbon Gray, and… it's a 260. Or at least, has the dash, the roof, the hatch, the wing, the seats… unlikely someone would make that switch itself (owner wasn't around).

How did you determine 260 vs. 240? Web searches? I see that mine turns up at Los Gatos Luxury Cars…

SCCVC11107HL81675

2007 CO Exige S, Track and Touring package, Starshield, no LSD

Bought by me 8/11 with 12,500 miles. Currently, 15,500 miles. Was told I am the 3rd owner but have reason to believe I may be the 4th or more.

Just out of curiosity, is there any logic to the numbering? I know how to decode it but my car is 2007 and #1675. 1674 and 1676 are 2006's....

DanKeen.. I'm still in the process of adding all of the 2009-2011 cars, where there are 240's & 260's for each year.

My guess for the distinction between 240's and 260's on the VIN is

220's start with: SCCVC (Exige S & Club Racer)
240's start with: SCCWC
260's start with: SCCLH

So you are right, 1431 is coded incorrectly on my spreadsheet. If the engine code really does determine whether its a 240 or 260 by the VIN, then many of the 2010/2011's I've found are coded incorrectly by the dealership websites that I found them through.

The reason I have the spreadsheet sorted by serial number is because I search carfax/google using my algorithm based on serial number sequence, so it's easier to search the spreadsheet for missing cars. I don't believe there is much logic to the serial number ordering. I've found there are ~4 total 2006's in the 0-1000 serial number, then the rest of the 330+ 2006 Exiges are spread between serial numbers 1000-3000.

Look at the 250-400 serial number range and you will find every 2008 Club Racer in that range. There's a large number of 2008 S240's between 0-500, then they start to show up less in the higher serial numbers. I really can't find a pattern.

The fact that there are already 5-10 examples of the same serial number used for 2 cars of different years tells me that they aren't trying too hard to make it logical.
