looks like the show is postponed again - which is good for me because I wouldnt mind going and it was conflicting with the BBQ/drive Sunday...

Friday's rain forces (another) delay

We're sorry to say that while the airfield had been drying out nicely, the rain that fell Friday evening pushed it to the point of saturation with standing water remaining this afternoon.

We are definitely going to reschedule for a few weeks from now and will send an email once we do. Thanks to everyone who's been calling and emailing -- we're going to make sure the show happens! You can find updates at

ok this year I really am going to try to make this event...

AUGUST 23, 2009
(Rain date August 30, 2009)

RARE AUTOMOBILES AND PLANES ON DISPLAY at ANNUAL WHEELS & WINGS FESTIVAL
ORGANIZED BY BLACK HORSE GARAGE

New Milford, Connecticut - Imagine a picturesque grass landing field nestled in the natural wooded splendor of the Berkshires. Now imagine that same field graced with hundreds of spectacular vintage automobiles and airplanes. That amazing scene will soon become a reality as Wheels & Wings once again comes to scenic Candlelight Farms Airport in New Milford, CT on Sunday, August 23, 2009.

Even in last year's chilly temperatures, more than 1000 excited enthusiasts turned out to get an up close and personal look at over 300 examples of the most fascinating cars ever constructed. From million dollar Ferraris and elegant American classics to ground-shaking muscle cars, the incredible array of iconic vehicles on hand delighted visitors from all over New England and beyond.

For this year's expanded show, event creator Black Horse Garage has once again enlisted the expert help of the Antique Automobile Club of America's (AACA) Housatonic Valley Region chapter to help organize the festival. Event sponsors also include FEDEX and Griot's Car Care Products. All gate proceeds will benefit Connecticut's Saint Catherine Academy for Mentally Retarded Children.
Together, Black Horse Garage, AACA Housatonic Valley Region chapter and the event's corporate sponsors are dedicated to providing enthusiasts of every age with an opportunity to view, photograph and enjoy a wide-range of fantastic vintage automobiles and aircraft. Many vintage planes will be taking off, landing and performing amazing aerobatic stunts.

People are still talking about last year's show and the amazingly friendly atmosphere" commented John Buonanno, President of Black Horse Garage. He says the show received rave reviews because it brought together a variety of vehicles you can't find at any other local show - multi-million dollar exotics, for instance, next to antiques, classics and beautiful aircraft - in a truly beautiful natural setting.

The decision to invite the AACA HVR team in 2008 and again this year was one of both necessity and admiration. John continues, "Our first two shows were more successful than we could have imagined and we know this year we'll need even more reinforcements. Plus, these are the people who used to put on the Bridgewater, CT show - and that was one of the state's best events."
All collector car owners are invited to bring their vehicles as there will be awards in more than 25 different categories. Gates open at 10, however exhibitors and participants should arrive by 9am. Excellent food, music and plenty of convenient parking will be available all day.

The August 23 event (rain date August 30) will run from 10am to 4pm. Candlelight Farms Airport is located in New Milford, Connecticut at 5 Green Pond Road, right off Route 7. Directions are available from Black Horse Garage at Black Horse Automotive Services - Connecticut Antique Car Restoration and Maintenance Garage

For more information, call 203 330 9604

All gate proceeds will be donated to Saint Catherine Academy (stcatherineacademy.org)

Black Horse Garage provides a full range of expert inspection, appraisal, restoration, repair, maintenance, brokerage, and transport services for collector automobiles of every era. The firm specializes in vintage and late model Ferrari, Aston-Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and many American & British collector automobiles.
The Housatonic Valley region of the AACA was founded in 1973 as the Newtown Restorers Club. The club was founded on the premise of helping others work on and restore antique cars.
