What is the start date for the 3/36,000 new car warranty?

Is the start date?:

a) The delivery date
b) The date of the mandatory 1000 mile ecu dump?

Sorry for not being able to research to much on this right now (I'm at work ) but we need a quick answer.

Thanks everyone !!

Makes sense, so the first ecu dump just validates or activates it then?

Not really relevant other than the first ECU dump is required as a condition of the warranty and can be used to modify or nullify the warranty.

Think about it, the first 1000 miles may not happen until after a year of owning the car. The warranty would still be over a year old.

So then there's a database at Lotus to track warranties. I assume that the dealer submits this date to Lotus then. Can you verify that date with someone at Lotus? (I don't mean to be confusing here :) )
