'Pistonheads site' has article (of 12/11)
titled 'Lotus Elise (USA). In it, Rob
Konick mentions that the US dealer network is committed to expanding from 40 to 50 over the next two years. Since
he also mentions the 2,500 annual amount for the first 12 months, it seems
that the original (38-40) dealerships will
be in line to receive that production and not the 50 being bandied about in previous listed rumors.

I suppose that is good news then. More cars for the current dealers. Plus, it prevents newbies to be able to buy the car without waiting.

Look at it this way, would you want an exotic dealer just to "pop- up" becuase of the Elise? Hopefully the time it is going to take to expand the network means that Lotus is spending the time to qualify it's prospects in hopes of finding the best of the bunch out there.
