The new C6 'Vette' will be running on
Goodyear Eagle F-1 run-flats that are much more advanced than those previously offered in the tire industry.
I'm sure the fix-a-flat fiasco that is leading to numerous lawsuits because of
exploding cans had something to do with
it. If Lotus is denied the use of their fix-a-flat type product in U.S., the only other alternative is either run-flats or
that greeny gooey slime product that
needs an air pump after it is squeezed
into the flat tire.

Ferrari and Maserati have for years supplied their cars with a can of fix-a-flat. I have driven cars with the run-flats and my impression is they ride too harsh and don't hold the road like a true high-performance tire should.

The C5 came with run flats and no spare as well. BMW offers a "mobility package" consisting of fix-a-flat and roadside assistance for its models that don't have spare tires, instead of run-flats.

I have the "mobility package" on my M5, it's pretty much useless for anything but a slow leak in the tread area. A leak in the side of the tire or larger cut, most anything but a slow leak you call AAA or some such service.
The good news is the only leak I ahve had was a slow one where I drove to a tire store and got it fixed.
