I want to post this PSA regarding Victory Subaru/Lotus in Somerset and share my experience:

Victory Lotus has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I actually posted about an issue on the Facebook Lotus group and the Lotus mechanic, Tim Mentzel, at Victory happened to see it and assured me that he would take care of it. Tim is a fellow Lotus/car enthusiast and very passionate about Lotus and what he does.
I was due for service after just picking up my Evora 400 last month and I relayed all my issues to him via DMs.
He had all parts prepared in advance of my arrival (3.5 hour drive for me from DC). Upon arrival, he was the only person who drove the car and serviced it. He checked up on me every hour and let me know how it was going.

Of the 6+ or so issues I had, he had resolved all of them within the day and I was able to get home late in the day. He even followed up with me after a few times to make sure all was well with the car. This was def the best dealership I've had ever, by a solar system of a longshot, and I couldn't acknowledge them more. My only complaint is their rate was a bit pricey but that's not really in Tim's control and I did want to address everything in one visit.

I post this because Tim shared his frustrations about how many people in the Lotus community have bad mouthed Victory, turning many customers away from them. The bad mouthing may have been merited a while ago since apparently Victory was not as good a few years ago and apparently before Tim was there. But since then, they've moved out of their old location in Princeton and try to 'rebrand' in order to get rid of the old rep.

So yeah def try them out if you're in the area. Tim has been a pleasure working with and I couldn't recommend them more. Message me for Tim's information if you're interested

TLDR: Don't listen to the rumors about Victory Lotus in Somerset NJ. They are great and worth the visit, ask for Tim

Tim will have a uphill battle and posting here on LT was a good start to let locals know that there has been a big change in the service department. When you have to come behind previously poor mechanics that built a bad reputation it will take time. Hopefully locals will read and if posting negative also note when they experienced this and acknowledge that they aren't talking about the current service department.

Want to also add that Tim over there is really great. We're trying to diagnose this continuous CEL (P0507 and P0172) and he's been incredibly transparent and honest about what the right steps are to diagnose and figure it out. Has driven with me while reading fuel trim levels, explained the things I didn't know, and really takes great care of the cars.

He even invited me to the Lotus shop there where he had a new Evora, an Elise with the front clam off, and one more in for something. Plus he's inspiring me to get a Kei truck/van.

Really good guy and all around car enthusiast who loves what he does. Do recommend.

Yes unfortunately, google hasnt updated their address but if you put in Victory Subaru in Somerset, you'll get there. I accidentally went to their old Princeton location and had to drive 20 minutes up to get the correct location. I didn't see any Lotus service or showroom in the Princeton dealership

Thanks for the kind words guys! We are working on changing the Google address. Everything for the Lotus franchise is being moved to the Somerset location. New building is in the works. We currently have 2 Evoras left in stock at the Somerset location. A 3rd unit is coming out of Demo status soon. If you guys ever need anything don't hesitate to contact me.

I'll throw it in here too as I mentioned it in another thread. I'm one of the ones who stood by Victory in their early days when they took over the old Sports and Specialist franchise. Ian was great and when he left, I want to say the Lotus tech was Derek? was great too and then it all went south..... And I was far from happy....

I'm not sure what happened back then but this spring Tim got in touch with me and encouraged me to give them a try again. I have to say, the move to the subie dealer and having Tim as their tech was a breath of fresh air. It is an exceptional combo and I hope they take care of Tim and keep him there!

Glad to hear about the turnaround at Victory. Looks like Tim is the hero in facilitating the change. He posted that he would do whatever it took to win back everyone's trust. And, it looks like he has! This gives folks another dealership to use again. Nice job(y)(y)

Did 2 sell within 3 days? I ask because I only see one available and it's an automatic. I'm on the hunt for a orange, yellow, or some kind of different color Evora 400 or GT with a manual, preferable a low mileage used one.
