So I'm driving along, on my way to work, when i hear a snap followed by a loud exhaust grumble. I'm thinking "did my exhaust come lose?" I pull over and notice my muffler sitting oddly. This happened only after 5k miles:

Driver side hanger just snapped off. Am I happy about this? Of course not! I'm out 600$ and stuck scrounging around looking for a replacement exhaust after not even putting 5000 miles on this one.

On another note, I like the look and aesthetics of this exhaust. Sounds great! I'm just hoping this isn't a common issue, and I'm crossing my fingers that I can be reimbursed or shipped a new one that doesn't fall off the car after a year.

To Jermaines credit, he did reply to my PM and said I would be sent a new exhaust when they become available. Mine was just an issue of a poor weld as it cracked on the seam and then completely tore off due to the fracture.

I'm striking mine off as a lemon as I do not drive the car hard and have maybe put 5K miles on it in 2 years.

I will keep you guys updated on what happens.

That's exactly how mine failed but on the other side, 2 years and around 10K miles. The canister is too thin to support its own weight with only 2 non reinforced mounting points. MartyMcfly, what state are you in? I'm curious is if it's a cold weather only issue.

Yellow99,

I'm in Texas.. warm weather year round.

Additional bracing May be in order once I get my new one.

Yellow 99, when yours broke, did you receive a new one or did you just have to eat the costs?

Mine is still hanging on by a thread, I literally never drive the car since Arizona sucks.
I need to deal with it and get the car sold, I expect to eat the costs.

That is not due to a bad weld, it's due to a poor attachment location for the hanger. Look at the thickness of the muffler can they welded the hanger to, it's maybe 18 gauge steel. The weld and the hanger were far stronger then the muffler case. The hanger should have extended further down and cradled the muffler pipe (welding there at the base of the muffler inlet/outlet). The way they fabricated that it was just a matter of time, hence all the failures reported.
The good news is yours can easily be repaired. Any good welder can patch the hole torn in the can and make up a new hanger attached as I have suggested.

Took it to 2 places and they wouldn't touch it considering the weld along the canister came separated as well. You can slightly see in the pics what I'm referring to.

It's best to get a new one and re align the hangars from there. Just waiting on Jermaine to get the next batch in and go from there.
