I don't know for certain, but generally a warranty is a part of the car irrespective of owner and in the case of the Elise, I can't see why that would be different. I've never heard of a car warranty that was not transferrable.

Lotus up'ed their 2 year warranty to 3/36 in the US to be equal to what most car manufacturers are offering. It covers the car, irrespective of who owns it, although a manufacturer may demonstrate that certian claims are not covered due to abuse.
