So...

Has anyone driven the Evora through an automatic car wash, despite the owner's manual saying otherwise?

The owner's manual suggests hand washing only, but that's not really an option for those in colder climates, except for the self-wash facilities I guess? But the self-wash facilities have the high-pressure wand wash too...

I'm wondering if there's water ingress issues with car washing given the history of this car...

Thanks.

Do it regularly. Hand washing generallyillegal here anyway,

And no, the Evora does stay dry and it doesn't shrink either.

Yeah, socialist Germany at its best. Some municipalities prohibit hand washing unless you do it on your own property or self wash boxes, but not on the public street.

I personally use self wash boxes.

ahh yes the socialists always trying to control our lives!... or maybe the intent is to conserve water?

Use a waterless wash system. They are advantageous over the traditional/wasteful method anyway.

You can use the wand to fill a bucket vs. spraying directly at your dirty paint.

hmmm...I'd say the windshield side post decorative covers are likely to get ripped off for sure at some point in an auto wash....no?

So you DO put it through an automatic car wash all the time?
About 80% of the time. I have it handwashed about once every 3-4 months by a nearby shop, because the automatic car washes don't clean all the edges very well.

BTW hand washing is illegal for ecology reasons - wash water has to be reclaimed. We ddon't want the rest of the ****ry to look like it did in Eastern Germany before reunification. Its a reasonable legislation.

Sorry, inquiring minds want to know... :)

High pressure touchless or soft cloth touch?

Wow, I empathize with you guys who are prohibited from hand washing. I cringe at the thought of even letting someone else hand wash my car, much less a machine.

There is local Evora S owner who has taken his car to local century city auto wash from day one. I would say at least 20 washes if not more, since he takes it twice a week.

Saw him yesterday, car looks good as new, and he says no leaks.

I hand wash my cars every 36-40 months. Since I quick detail after every drive, they look brand new and never require washes.

Mind sharing the product(s) you use to quick detail?
