Here's a table from an Excel spreadsheet designed to help decide where money is best spent in terms of saving weight. Most items are from Sector111 and Blackwatch. What else should be on the list?

This list is about wisely allocating money. There are other great threads with no-cost weight savings options and tips.

Items that save unsprung weight get a * because it's worth extra. The list assumes LSS and touring pack, if your car is different your savings on seats and wheels may differ. Thanks to Andrikos for the jpeg chart spreadsheet!

A/C delete is not free: $250. Saves 22lbs

Benetec CF Hardtop, saves about 12lbs. Not sure of price but over $4000.

Excess body fat... free.

Great Spread sheet. Can you please attach the spreadsheet so we don't have to parse it out from a copy and paste.

Thank you in advance/

RAC Monolites Wheels 6 $2,850 $475.00
SSR Competition Wheels 3 $1,450 $483.33

it should be PER wheel. so the weight reduction is a lot more.

Here's the xls file. Good point about the A/C delete -- I was considering it more labor cost than a mod. I put it in.

Topless = free weight savings, so the CF hardtop doesn't make the cut.-poke-

Odyssey PC625 instead of the Braille. Saves 11 pounds for $71. That equates to $6.45/pound. Better than any others on your list.

Of course, there is the audio system delete. That is free, and probably good for 10 pounds or so.

Lose the spare tire around your waist! Cost: $0 Weight savings: dependent on how dedicated you are! ;) Could be more significant than any listed in the spreadsheet!

AC Delete has a cost other than the $250. You should add a column indicating wheter the mod affects the driver's comfort.

Odyssey battery added:up:, but note the Braille price includes a nifty bracket. Mine's on the way mostly because the stock battery tried to destroy my clam.

This isn't a free mods list, this is designed to help people allocate money wisely. E.g., that full body CF clam doesn't seem like such a bad deal now, does it?

Lotusmark, how much is a U.S. registered S1 used? If it's $40,000 you're talking $80 a pound. Not too bad.

For the SSR line, I believe that is 3lbs per wheel, or 12lbs total (unsprung) for replacement of the sport wheels. 23lb savings if replacing the stock wheels.

you didnt include toybox48 wheels, 5.5kg front and 6.4 kg rears for 2900. fronts are able to accomodate AP racing big brake kits!

also, you may want to differentiate between unsprung and sprung weight savings!

I'm going by what's on Sector111's website.

SSR Competition Sizes: Front = 16"x6.5" Rear = 17"x7.5"
Fronts: 12 each, Rear: 14 each = 52lbs for the set
LSS wheels = 55 lbs for the set

Net savings: 3lbs.

Are you talking a different set of wheels, or are those numbers wrong?

If the Toybox weights are given per wheel, that's 74.5lbs for the set, an increase, not a decrease. Good point about unsprung... will try to note that.

The SSRs are listed on Tirerack.com as 11F & 13R, for a total of 48lbs. Sector111 shows sport @ 55 & stock @ 71. So from those I would guess 7 less than sport and 23 less than stock wheels? Don't know, maybe I'm reading something wrong. Anyway, I love my SSRs :) Kudos on your listing too!
