Quick question for the experts...

I replaced my Elise battery last night after being away for an unexpected extended vacation (almost 3 weeks). When I got back, the battery didn't have enough juice to turn, so I tried jumping the car. I had one successful jump, drove the car around a bit to charge, and then replaced the battery cover. However after the battery cover was replaced, the car wouldn't start and wouldn't take a jump (I tried probably 4 total times).

I replaced the battery, and the car started up correctly. However, since replacing the battery my RPM / Security indicator consistently blinks and my door lock / unlock & alarm system refuses to activate with my FOB. I can lock / unlock the doors from inside, but not with the FOB.

I drove it today and the car would let me go up to 7k RPMS (not in limp mode), and I don't have any warning LEDs. The car seems absolutely fine with the exception of the security system and blinking RPM indictator.

Any ideas? Could I have blown a fuse or do I need to go to the dealer to get a reset? Anything I could try before going to the dealer?

Sorry for the long winded post... any help is much appreciated!

You can try re syncing the remotes:

RE SYNC REMOTE
Taking battery out of remote and waiting 10 secs to re-install. Standing close to the car and press both buttons until remotes LED goes out, approx. 10 secs. Release both buttons and LED should then come on constant. Press large button for 1 sec, LED will flash, now complete.

Sometimes just disconnecting the battery and re-connecting can fix things.

The flashing LED has multiple functions, including bad alternator/battery connections, so check those.

Thanks for the resync how-to. My BWR key hasn't been working since i replaced the battery. The 10 second break was key, I just jammed the battery back in last time to no avail. this time it worked right away after the break!
