Just realized today reading through the forums that HRM has closed, where are you guys getting your cars serviced in Westchester? I'm trying to avoid driving to the city or the hamptons.

Call Eric @ 914-473-5914 (the lotus underground). They are 5 minutes from HRM and are very familiar with our cars. They do great work. They used to work @ HRM.

Good luck,

Phil
Unfortunately not for warrantee work. For that the closest are Manhattan Motor Cars, and Park ave Lotus in Maywood, NJ I believe. Maybe Valenti in CT. Have heard bad things about Valenti. Have heard Manhattan is OK for warantee but all else is super expensive. Finding out about Park avenue now. Further down in NJ I believe there is a place that most seem to find great but their name escapes me at the moment.
There is also re motorsports just across the tappen zed which is a service only authorized lotus service center
IMO

The best I've found in the area is a place called Sport and Specialist in Hopewell NJ (outside Princeton).

Great shop...

Not even 5 minutes. Maybe 5 minutes on foot.

To clarify, this is called RS Motorsports and it's located in Closter, NJ. I've visited the shop and met Ralph, the owner.

X2 to RS Motorsports. 201-750-0700

Ralph Stechow is factory-trained and as noted, he is the only service-only shop certified to do Lotus warranty repairs. Very meticulous. And, his waiting room features a set of Esprit seats!

I have used him for about 16 years, now.

RS Motorsports

Just remember he is a one-man shop. You won't find any Saturday hours (or often, Friday hours during racing season)

Best time to call is around 9AM in the morning.
I called today and he said they don't do much Lotus work anymore  Tough times? No clients?

That's weird  they just worked on my car a couple of weeks ago. I also saw Bav Motorist's car in the shop as well..

Ok, I just got off the phone with Eric and he said they are still working on our cars. Nothing has changed. You can call him on the same number. Maybe you called RS Motorsports?

It wasn't RS that he called. They're still there and they ONLY do Lotus.
This might sound weird and I never followed up on it but I got a call from Infinity of Greenwich saying that they were a Lotus approved shop in the area. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'm assuming they got my number when HRM closed?
I hadnt heard that, but it would be great if true...If you need any non-warranty work, I would try Hudson Historics....
I know Dave Butler, former partner in HRM, had a relationship with the Infiniti dealer. That said, I've heard nothing that would lead me to believe that they have actually become an authorized point. RS is still your closest point.
Once I've "hacked" things up enough, I call Ralph at RS Motorsports and he puts things right. I had him put an engine he built into my '85 Turbo Esprit and it turned into Frankensprit! He's a true Lotus enthusiast that makes every LOG he can. He's already signed up for Evora training at LCU! Can't recommend him highly enough! As far as I'm concerned he's the ONLY one in our area.

Stay Tuned!
David
