Most of the breaks I have seen have been at the transmission where the axle just snaps off. I think the best bet would be to shot-peen the axle end additionally shotpeen and REM the cages and star might help. My custom axle solution is not inexpensive enough to be a product and is also quite heavy. What works for me probably won't work for thee.

I just bought a spare set from Deroure in the UK while the GBP is still somewhat depressed. Still $1,500 or so. Yikes! FedEx put them through a workout worthy of a day at Sears Point to boot.

I'd love to find out where the joints are sourced!

Oh, and I have enough spare parts now to do some serious experimenting. Why does opening the cage help with performance? Is it involved at all when the joint is loaded?

I have posted previously and am happy to repost images of the galled surfaces I've found, the worst being a passenger inner and a driver outer.

I swap the outers left-right as a matter of course when I refurb/repack a set.

Criticism, help, comment, all welcome...
