Edit:
Top Gear version:

And anything of this nature is truly cool. It takes a greasy sweaty man with some torches and a welder to build it and make his one of a kind thing. Any tart with a trust fund can walk into the exotic car dealer of the moment and trot out with something wearing an Italian badge that needs a 55 hour detail every 500 miles of driving.

Then of course there is this. lol The "perfect" (in my goofy brain) track "car". In this vid it passes the 996 GT3 and Aston Martin YouTube - 996 GT3 vs. VW-Bus

Edit: Doh, I thought the expression was to be shockingly super cool, not hideously ugly.

Since this is in the General Lotus related section I would venture a guess the right answer is.... mmm... Lotus?!

What do I win?

I did that the first time I saw a Smart Car in Europe and a Pontiac Aztek here.

Car? That dude looks like he just walked in on his parents getting it on, well minus the puke.

+1 on the Aztek. First time I saw that was on a billboard, I honestly thought it was some kind of joke. I just couldn't imagine someone trying to sell a car that was so incredibly ugly.

EDIT: fpitas' picture shows the facelifted Aztec that followed the original:

I can certainly imagine GM trying to sell it, what boggles me is that people buy them :crazyeyes And I think I saw a "sport" model once :panic:

Sport! Ha! rotfl

Actually, many consider demolition derbies to be a sport, and the Aztec does look like it survived one or more of those events.

I seem to remember the Aztek getting insanely high JD Power customer satisfaction ratings. Apparently the 12 people who bought one really loved them.

I wouldn't be surprised.

But were they daring enough to be seen driving them in public?:D

I've never been in one, but seemed like Pontiac designed them to be quite functional, throwing aesthetics out the window.

But years from now, will they be collectors items!? (like Gremlins?)

I hear they are very usable, feature-rich vehicles. If you can get over the looks enough to buy one, I think it'd be easy to like it (if you're into minivans, that is).

This might be the end all argument for what we all want in a car. Period. This guy gets it right! I want mine in white. :D
