When a dealer says that they were invoiced for an Elise. Does anyone know what that means in terms of where the car is in the process? I realize it means it is very close, but is that: on the boat, in port, on the transporter?
Thanks

BTW, welcome back Randy. I hope the trip went well.

Hey Martin,

It means that your car is in port. The dealership is charged for the car when it arrives there. So your car should be here very soon :)

Congrats.

Martin,

The common practice is the Dealer gets invoiced when the car is loaded on the transporter. Legally the ownership of the vehicle changes hands from LCU to the dealer at that point (FOB).

So, as MW said... Congrats!!! Your car is near!!!

Khamai is correct,
This indicates that the car has arrived at the port and has gone through the entire port process as well as starshield, etc.. When the car is in "released to carrier" the dealer is invoiced at that point. The carrier may still wait a bit to pick up the car until it can consolidate an efficient load.
