They showed renders and CGI boards of new cars, including a new Esprit and Elite...absolutely beautiful cars, but the Evora seems to be the cream of the Lotus crop. Was the previous president just over ambitious or were they're claims just unrealistic?

For a minute, it seemed the company was posturing up to do what Alfa is trying to do now...

All that is old news. The CEO at the time had wild ambitions (not necessarily a bad thing), but not project management skills. Only the new Esprit ever saw significant development. CEO Dany Bahar was ousted due to mismanagement and abuse of company privileges. The lineup stagnated for a while until Jean Marc Gales stepped in. He's extremely sharp, and a great project manager that brought the company back to profitability. The souped up Evora 400 finished development and is set to sell like hot cakes next year, other ambitions include an SUV to be sold initially in China and a next gen Elise that will herald the return to the US market. :D

he had a lot of other ideas, like flying into the factory on a helicopter to explain to the design studio that he knew style. and had a big idea about giving his friends free cars, and ... some idea about... bigger wheels? or something... genius!

hence why i refer to "that" CEO as "he who shall not be named"

i am still waiting for lotus to issue a formal apology to the world
