So I purchased a set of wheels from Lotus Specialist for a set of Base Elise wheels with good tires. Paid more than I would have for base wheels cause it was advertised with good tires. Was told the tires were not original and can be used. I took a look at the dates today and to my surprise they were the original tires from 2004.

My fault should not have taken his word for it and should have checked dates.

The tires have plenty of tread they look to be in good condition and stored properly but they are 10 years old.

Just trying to see what I can do besides just tossing them.

Thanks

I use a set of old tires as a safety for when I jack any of my cars up. I would put the front end of the car on jack stands, then I would slide one of the tires under the side of the car. If for whatever reason the jackstands fail(rare) the tire would prevent it from killing me. Overkill? Sure.

Put em on some really cheap wheels and use them if you store the car in winter (where is the tristate?)
