ha, I had the same question this morning once I received mine. I searched first and found the answer.

Are you sure. My '08 has one, because I installed a flasher module to it.

I think the connector is really for a rear fog light, which the US spec cars don't have.

Sorry, I should have been more specific, it is for the third brake in the rear of the roll hoop cover on the Elise that doesn't exist in the Exige. It's well explained here: http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f129/extra-unused-wire-elise-exige-boot-trunk-90663/
