What's Up with Dimmitt, selling cars to those not on the wait list?

Just by chance I went to Dimmitt's web site http://www.dimmitt.com/inventory2.asp and what do I see but two Elise's, a red and a green, with small photos. Dimmitt told me they had three cars coming, the demo and two customer cars. They also told me they won't have any cars for sale and their cars would be going to those who have a deposit. I'm getting a bad feeling about this.

The red one is a 111s. So hopefully just using those shots for advertising...
Red car is not a federal Elise, check out the exhaust...

U sure this is not an outdated site?
How can it be outdated with new 2005 Elise's on it? They didn't sell the import Elise's. These cars should have gone to somebody with a deposit down. This is just going to make my wait longer now for my car.

If this is the case, I've had it with Lotus and will go to the C6 instead. What BS. Hopefully I'm just jumping to conclusions, but something fishy is going on. I got an email from Dimmitt yesterday and they told me they didn't have any Elise's in.

What about the green with 2 miles on it?
The reason I ask cause I noticed that the red one was a 111S and if I remember correctly, Dimmit had a green one back in April.

Yeah, now that I look at it, that's the car I test drove last year, parked in the same spot. Man, I'm getting antsy!

Hopefully they just posted that to get traffic in to put down a deposit or something.

I actually didn't get to look at the photos before I started this thread. I could only see small thumbnails. I found the seperate webpages after this thread started, so I got a better look at the red one. :)

They had the green press car a few months back, but the mileage on that car was more than two, which is what the photo of the green on shows.

Okay, maybe I'm calming down a bit now. They didn't use to have those cars on their site, as I do check it once and awhile.
What about the VIN numbers?

Isn't VIN of the green really 0787? That is not here now for a 2005 car. Right? They are in the high 200s at the factory.

Hey, I only saw small thumbnails at first! Now I see that those were the cars they were showing awhile back. I'm still confused on the VIN numbers though.

You thought you were scared! I fell out of my chair. I was going to get a shot or two to calm myself down.

Okay, I'm back to only having to wait six more months for my car. :(
Yeah, I think the green car was a test car. It has a normal tachometer. It's not compressed for the first 3 rpm. From what I saw of the certified US cars, they had a compressed tachometer.
have you heard anything on how many there are spos to get in the next few months? I just never can get a straight answer.

hopefully i will be out there sat to drive the car. thats after i learn to drive stick friday night. you might want to get there earlier if you want to drive it while its in one piece.:D

Here's a copy/paste from an email I got from Jeff....

"Buddy I have no specific dates for specific cars . I know I'm, due 30
from intro thru winter (LATE intro)and you are in the initial 30 order .
We don't get to pick order . As they near , we'll get VINs and whose it
is - then notify!! JEff"

Good luck with the learning of the stick!
Notice that the site says they are taking orders now for the fall -- bet these pics are just place holders.
The Ardent Red car was displayed at the Tampa Motor Trend car show last November and the BRG car was used for the Exotic Car show held in Clearwater at Vinoy Park. Those photos are just to generate traffic for deposits.
