Just go to any graphics shop, if you have a good picture of what you want on digits they can do it in vinyl.

Turbo Esprit Decals

I can't believe you asked. I,too, have been looking for a new pair of them, in black, and hadn't found any source with factory ones. However Dave Bean had one in red. Two days ago, I took the red one to a graphics store, and they are going to make me black ones. Stay tuned. If it works, we will now have a good source! I'll keep you all posted.

Edit: Just realized, you are looking for 1989 decals, I'm doing 1987 G-car ones. Maybe I can help someone else? -Steve

Goto edecals.com, I have used them many times for different projects before my wife bought her own vinyl die cutting machine, which is completely amazing, my wife is just amazing in supporting my hobbbies.

But edecals can make you anything from a photo or use their online designer, they are cheap and fast too I think. And they can make things in any size, font, multicolor, whatever.

If you want the real thing try SJ Sports cars in the U.K. Steve is a good guy to deal with. I shopped with them regularly during the 20 years that I owned my 89 Esprit and never had an issue.

I did email SJ Sports Cars, and got no response at all. Anybody else want to try? -Steve
I've bought a lot of stuff from SJ Sports Cars in 2012 and 2013; sometimes they're a little late with email.

Try triggering an order that requires review (e.g. shipping charges have to be manually calculated for US) and that usually gets their attention. It doesn't have to be committed immediately.

BTW, what decals are on a 1989 Esprit? There are chrome 'Esprit' badges and 'SE' badges, but they are not decals?

What decals would these be? I didn't think the 89 had any decals, badges yes, but decals? (unless its the earlier G car decals added by some P.O, and I buy mine from this guy, very good quality too: http://tinyurl.com/l3hoqvz
, I also happen to have a spare set of the 'G' car 'Esprit Turbo' decals in black if anyone is interested)

You can just go to
lotus car spares, parts and accessories for sale worldwide and servicing and repairs in the united kingdom, sj sportscars limited, independant lotus specialists

Use the pull down menus to specify Model Esprit that the decals are found on

Select body and trim

Then
Badges and decals

They do have picture, dimension, and pricing of many decals and badges. If you don't find a decal you like under your car model and year you can search under other models and years
They might not answer right away on things like decals as he might give priority to technical questions or non fluff parts requests

Turbo Esprit decals

Techspy - thanks very much. Those decals are perfect. If my local guy craps out, I'll definitely go that way. Terrific. -Steve

I don't think any '89 in the U.S. had any decal. Do you have a picture of an '89 with a decal? LEW shows the '88 with one but I have never seen one on an '89.

Hmmm... I've never seen a FACTORY USA 88 or 89 with the word 'Turbo' (decal or badge). Sounds like aftermarket.

The only OEM ID should be BADGES (not decals):

1. nose badge Lotus (lozenge or round)
2. side window badge 'Esprit' or 'Esprit SE'
3. side front fender badge 'Lotus Design'
4. rear badge 'Lotus' (above license plate)
5. side near rear side windows 'Esprit Turbo' badges(Euro version only)

Post some pictures - we really want to see what this car looks like :D

Hi the word ESPRIT is on top of the Badge.
I have to figure out how to post pics.
I am computer retarded so I will have to educate myself.
My Avatar shows you that. I cant even get it the right way.

There are several 89 Esprit's on the LEW owners page that feature the Esprit Turbo decal below the quarter window just behind the door about mid body high. Is this what mpesik is asking about? This might be something on Just non USA Esprit's. The service manual also calls out exact dimensions where this decal should be placed.

They call it a badge in the manual but in the LEW owners photos it does not appears as raised letters
SJ does sell this decal in various colors including silver

These must have been fitted by a p.o as they were not installed as standard on the federal cars ( can you post or pm the vin?) highly unlikely that this was euro imported, but not impossible. I don't remember, was the speedo in miles or km's? Best bet is that is was installed by a previous owner who liked the look.
