Perhaps they bought it at auction on the "open market" when Fox got their extra car?

Repeat after me: "It's not my car. I wasn't going to get that one anyway. It has no effect on my position on the waiting list."

If you say it often enough, you may even believe it in time.

I think that Lotus leaves a couple of parts out of each car, so by the time they have produced 100 cars or so they have enough spare parts to put together a "gift car" which they send to their favorite dealer.

I recieved a call today from a friend who Whole Sales cars for a living, he offered me a Black/Black, Touring and Sport pkg for $10k over MSRP:rolleyes: The car is due to arrive on the East Coast next week.
Please don't mistake this as a solicitation...I'm just venting my frustration with Lotus since he can find a way to get the Elise (he's sold two already) and they can't even give me an ETA on the arrival date of our Demo:huh:
With so few cars in the states and many dealers waiting for their first car, it's amazing that this sort of stuff happens. I suppose it's really a small fraction of the cars being produced in the long run, but it just seems wrong.

It's not exactly pent-up anger if we spew it out all over the place. Elisetalk actually is a therapeutic release. And believe it or not, some of us can think about larger issues and still continue to live our lives.
