I recieved a call today from a friend who Whole Sales cars for a living, he offered me a Black/Black, Touring and Sport pkg for $10k over MSRPDonovan said:Sorry I should have been more clear. I was just joking about Aztec Bronze. Thanks for the heads up though! Now if you can find me a black one...
Your frustration is certainly understandable! It's too bad Lotus isn't doing a better job with the Elise introduction. They had appeared so intent on 'getting it right', that this resulting mess must have been the last thing they expected.Canyon Carver said:Please don't mistake this as a solicitation...I'm just venting my frustration with Lotus since he can find a way to get the Elise (he's sold two already) and they can't even give me an ETA on the arrival date of our Demo:huh:
With so few cars in the states and many dealers waiting for their first car, it's amazing that this sort of stuff happens. I suppose it's really a small fraction of the cars being produced in the long run, but it just seems wrong.Canyon Carver said:I recieved a call today from a friend who Whole Sales cars for a living, he offered me a Black/Black, Touring and Sport pkg for $10k over MSRPThe car is due to arrive on the East Coast next week.

Passionate simply because that car could go to someone who's been waiting patiently on a list for 3 years e.g. somewhat deserving... Most of the time you guys don't even bother to call your list to let them know that there's a car available - it just goes straight onto eBay or in the case of Symbolic, Nicks country club buddies... which is a pretty sh*t practice.js2665 said:Why so passionate?
I am guessing your son's mind "will" be changed by a test drive (except for the part about it being too small). I put my '99 Mustang Cobra up for sale the day I saw a picture of the federal elise and read its specs. Having driven an elise, I can say it did not disappoint in any performance category. It IS small and if your son does not value handling over the other attributes of a car, it is definitely not for him.Randy G said:The only disappointing thing about today's visit was my son's reaction to the car. He owns a 2003 Mach 1 Mustang. He was genuinely interested in the Elise, but after seeing it he thought it was too small and underpowered and a bit overdone in styling. I was truly hoping that he would appreciate it for what it is, but I'm afraid that he just doesn't "get it." Perhaps his mind will be changed by a test drive (if Overseas would now get their damned DEMO!!!).
Damn right, if these turkeys can't make money on an Elise at full list prioce then they clearly can't run a business.LotusLust said:i guess i see it both ways. sure, sell it for a few extra (well ok, a crapload extra) bucks. but it does indeed delay list holders as the car could just as well been sold to the first ST list member. not like they lose money on these at list ya know
Everyone... I've been trying to keep this thing quiet untill it was a done deal (my Dad always taught me not to open my mouth till a deal is done) but I can't contain myself anymore!!! I'm so elated, ecstatic, damn lucky week! Sorry Dad but ....js2665 said:A legit guy can fall into a car . I've experienced with Caddy XLR convert , Porsche Turbo (1st 3 mos) , Bentley (Already) and with an inbound "to remain nameless" Elise. (the recieving client knows). Why so passionate?
