I need to buy a neck restraint device for track days. I have an Exige S with the Lotus Sport Recaro seat and 6 point (non-Hans compatible) harnesses. From my research, and discussions with other drivers, the R3 seems like a good one to select. I noticed on the Safety Solutions website that they sell two models of the R3 Rage: one model is listed as "in seat" and the other does not have this designation. Which is the right one for my setup?

I had the R3 rage which came with a foam cushion to complement the back portion - this is a must or else it may hurt your spine...

The in-seat versions stays in the car and connects to the seatbelts while the regular version is attached to your torso before you get in the car. The in-seat only makes sense if you only plan on using it one car - the regular version is best if you will be switching cars.
