Had no problems with my current company- State Farm giving me a quote or covering the Elise.
I'm also going to use the car daily & put ~10k miles/year. I'm guessing that it will cost me $250/month to insure the Elise. I'll be 27 when I get it. I haven't checked with my insurance company, Nationwide, but I'm not sure if they will insure it.originally posted by 1HOTBMW
but I am going to use this as a daily driver and I would like to get a regular insurance company instead of insuring it as an antique. I will probably put around 10K in miles every year.
I feel your pain...2 Elise and a MaybackOneFastMiata said:Want hard to insure? Try a Maybach. You have to get it insured through aircraft idemnity companies. Sucks!
I'm 26/married/no tickets and all state gave me a quote of around 120/mo for 50/100/50 coverage with a 500.00 deductable. I live in louisiana, so insurance is cheaper than in bigger cities.1HOTBMW said:Hey guys, I just called up my insurance company Liberty Mutual for a quote on what the Elise will run me in insurance every year, and they told me that they don't insure Lotus'. I then called Geico and they told me that they don't insure them either. I have done a search on this forum and I have only found that people have used Grundy and Hagerty, but I am going to use this as a daily driver and I would like to get a regular insurance company instead of insuring it as an antique. I will probably put around 10K in miles every year. Does anyone have any other suggestions or have you used any other insurance companies that will insure this car? Any help is appreciated. Thanks -Michael.

Yes, but i'm only 26, and just graduating from college in may and my assets are not that great yet. That is what they tell me to base coverage on.atyclb said:I wouldn't feel comfortable with coverage that low
