Wait til the GM bean counters finish with it! Look what they did with the solstice, cool car, low price - 2900 pounds!! and anemic engine.
Does look good tho!

Weight?

Oh... I forgot that American manufacturers are like fat women when it comes to that sort of thing :p

It would look a lot better without that ugly pontiac badge on the front ;)

Weight????? It's a GM so it'll way twice as much as it should!! Probably available in automatic only.

This is what the GTO should have been to start with. But like with all great recent GM cars (allante, reatta, fiero, ELAN, Grand National, etc.) they'll kill it off just as things are getting good. I also agree that GM doesn't understand the concept of "low weight". Face it, GM focuses on the styling and then hopes they can get a few years out of the design before they have to actually work on making the car any good. The bean counters at GM are so bad that they made a good basic concept and design from Lotus (the Ecotec) so cheap and crappy that Lotus no longer even wants to associate with the program.

Whoa! I like!! GM seems to have a bunch of cool products in the pipe....amazing things happen when you put a real car guy in charge of new products. Thx Bob Lutz!

I'm certainly not one to defend GM, but in fairness:

GTO 3725
645 3781
S4 3925
CLK55 3635
AM Vanquish 4045
F 575M 3815
XK8 3779
Maserati 3700
SL500 4065
Passat W8 5093!!!

The GTO has a lot of "love handles" company and several of them are 2-seaters.

It looks good. But the headlights don't go with the scoopes and twin grill. The edges of the headlights need to be sharpened a bit (instead of rounded edges) so it fits in better with the rest of the face. This is how the GTO should look in the first place.

Yeah. Ponitac needs a new badge design. Soltice might get a chance from me if they got a new badge. I CAN'T STAND that badge!!! AHHHHHHHhhhhh. :crazyeyes

I love the exhaust note though.

Can't believe it! I saw one on my way home this evening and did not recognize it until I got up close. I hate American cars, but I have to admit I found myself admiring it as I slowed down on my bike to take a closer look.

Good looking car.

I'm rather surprised no one seems to be impressed by these numbers
REV Limit: 7000 RPM
Peak Hp: 575 Hp @ 6800 RPM
Peak Tq: 500 Lb-Ft @ 5200 RPM

Were talking about supercar power here. This is amazing power! I would really love to try this car out.

Pros:
It doesn't look bad.
Nice power.

Cons:
It looks like an 8 series ripoff.
It'll still handle like a pig.
$20 will get a whole new interior along with some change.
The prod model will look like crap.
It will weigh more than 2.5 Elises.
7k redline.

Good news is that is will have great towing capacity.

Sorry, my love of the Big 3 is long gone. Too many years of making cheap crap to just turn on a dime and make something worthwhile. The new Vette, the Viper and the GT40 are the only Big 3 cars that I would even think of buying. And the first two aren't that high on my list & the GT40 is way too expensive for me.
