Please contact us immediately regarding a recall on your 2005 Elise
models.

The recall is concerning the premature failure of the Adaptive Cam
which under

light load circumstance would sometime fail to engage and under other
circumstance

would freeze within the head and cause serious detonation of the head
and block.

You'll be entitled to a brand new engine and since the 2005 engine is
no longer in

production, you will have the option to choose a 2007 super-charged
engine at no

additional expense.

You should not drive your vehicle until this problem has been resovled.

For immediate assistance, please contact Lotus Customer Center:

1-800-255-3987

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Eastern Time

Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time

Sunday, closed

Sincerely,

Lotus Customer Service

1. it was emailed to me.

2. yes, i was aware it's a fake, but i could have sent you a battery combustion recall for the prius also and it may have stopped you on your tracks.

3. yes, i know it was april fools

i was trying to get whoever sent it to me to fess up...

in any event... i found the culprit :)

I was having cam issues so I figure it was one of my friends. but the email came from "lotuscarsusa.com" -- i figure that to be a spoof...

the clue was: FAILURE UNDER LIGHT LOAD

plus the 2005 engine no longer under production was kind of amusing :)

I was expecting the 800 # to be some sort of sex hotline -- but I was told it was to Lexus. I didn't confirm it.
