I had a C5 with that top and it wasn't too heavy. I think it would look way better then the black ragtop but the price would need to be low. Can any of you believe one small non-moving piece of fiberglass would cost 1/20th of the price of the car?

I've got a top like that for my 914- kind of neat but it doesn't fit or seal anywhere as good the OEM solid top.

And where would you store it when you're away
from home and want to remove it? With my 'two
piece' gull-wing (from HRM) I can not only get into
the car easily by simply raising a panel..but remove
them both in a minute and store them in the trunK.
Besides, every time I lift one of the panels, everyone
thinks it's a 'Lambo', not realizing that it's the doors
on that car that 'flip-up', not the roof panels.

Any photos available for the gull wing top?
If you go back in the archives of 'Interior/Exterior', you
can fins a lot of photos. Hunting Ridge Motors also
had a bunch on their site but that was some time back.

Were do you store the hardtop other then you garage when its off?
The gull-wing consists of two 'T-Top' panels
that can be placed in cushioned 'leather'
pouches that sit piggy-back on top of each
other in the trunk's center section.

While someone's working on the roof piece....

This thread is interesting because I was just thinking today that it would be great if there were an aftermarket rear engine cover (lid, trunk, whatever it's called....) for the Exige made out of clear lexan or something to give at least rear quarter visibility even if the intercooler blocks directly behind. I'd certainly be in for one.

I dont think you would want to cover the mesh. Its there to allow warm/hot air to escape. Plus added visibility would be minimal.

A tinted acrylic top that folds in half to fit in the trunk would be awesome. He might be able to just copy a hard top and add a hinge down the center.
