I actually have been thinking about getting something posted for some time now.... but haven’t had much time. So as I’m sitting here hanging with some family around the camp fire I thought I could get this posted!

So because of my work schedule change due to a different job Sunday morning group drives just don’t work out for me to do. So I’m looking for input and interest in alternative ideas on when to have group drives. I was thinking maybe Saturday or Sunday afternoon with ending at somewhere for dinner?

Also for those who have never been on a group drive with the other owners who have been in the area......these were spirited group drives......not sure how spirited they will end up being at this time of day, but I think we can make them fun enough and enjoyable!

I will lay down a few rules for me to actually put these drives on, as they do take time to do.
1. So if it’s going to rain it will get canceled. 2. Also looking to get more than 5 cars per drive! Actually was thinking closer to 10 or more, but not too many so under 25ish.

Let me know your......Thoughts? Interest?

I’d love to do some more drives again...but, as much as I hate to throw cold water on the idea, I think Saturday and Sunday afternoons are tougher, because of traffic. Maybe once the summer is over it’ll be better, but especially Sunday afternoons, everyone is heading home from the lake or their cabins, etc.

I’m still up for giving it a try, though.

Just re-joining the forum, so to speak, after no posts for several years.

Given the thread title's wide-ranging geography, where might these drives take place? I'm interested, with the normal caveats of time, day, weather, etc. that everybody else is sure to have, as well. I'd be coming out of the Eau Claire, WI, area.

Well we have had many drives in the past! But things seem to have tapered off. I would like to try and change that. So that being said we have one in the Spring Green/ New Glarus/ Mount Hoeb area.....one that’s from Oconomowoc and goes to Elkhart Lake.....there was another that started in Illinois and went to Lake Geneva. I have at least one more that I’m thinking about starting near where you are also! I will have to see what I can get together for this year though.

Nice, definitely interested. I will try to be a little better about keeping tabs on the discussions, for sure.

Along those lines, I was previewing the Road America schedule a few days ago. Perhaps there could be interest in meeting up at a semi-central location for a caravan to the track for events there. It also gives the advantage of providing concrete dates well in advance, regardless of weather.

Looking forward to summertime...

Yeah, we should get the group drives going again. My RallyCross schedule has been a bit demanding the last couple years, but I'd love to join in on one.

I'm in Madison, wouldn't mind meeting up with some other Lotus owners this year.

Anyone heading to Road America at the end of this month for the IMSA event? Trying to see if I'm bringing one kid, or all four of us are coming over, but definitely looking forward to it. Went to the MotoAmerica bike races there a few weeks ago, and there was a great, enthusiastic turnout. Hoping more of the same vibe comes out for the cars next weekend...
