Hi y'all -

My car came with an eBay CF rear wing that the seller acknowledged wasn't very good. After investigating, I found 2 of the hatch mounting bolts were missing (with thread stripped) and a third was still there but spinning freely (stripped thread again). That didn't leave much holding the wing to the car - glad I hadn't yet driven it much!

It looks like the bolts I found are M5-0.8 - is that the same as the stock wing? Has anyone had success repairing a stripped thread using a threaded insert like the one below? Or another type? Maybe even with some epoxy?

Appreciate your thoughts! I need to put off sending @GregsRaceParts any more money for a little while longer. ;)

Cheers,
Bryan

You may find success with Helicoils and JB Weld, but I don't know if your bolt holes are in fiberglass. Still, try those.

A 2 part epoxy and the insert should work if there is enough thickness in the wing base
