These are Bridgestone Blizzaks LM-22
205/45-16 front, 245/40-17 rear

Lots of driving in cold heavy rain. Incredible grip and predictability. Turn-in repsonse is not as good as the with the AO48s. But considering it has small independent tread blocks 11/32 in deep it is not that bad.

No snow experience yet.

What sizes did you end up getting? I didn't think the LM22s were available in both 195/50R16 and 215/45R17.

LM-22's are great tires - I put them on my Integra every winter. They do lose some of their "bite" as the miles pile up.

LSS - Lotus Snow Suspension?

Tell us how it goes. Shouldn't be too bad, the Yota engine isn't massively torque. Second gear starts on bad ice with those tires and I doubt you'll get much spin at all.

The biggest issue with snow tires is not your car, but the other idiots on the road with crap tires/driving skills. One bad winter I got rear ended 6 times in a two week period becuase I could stop and the person behind me couldn't.

BINGO! I'm not afraid to drive in the snow, but I don't trust these Pennsylvanian drivers in the dry. I sure as hell don't trust them in the wet!!

Cool - let us know how it goes once the snow hits. I'll be doing the same thing with my Lotus Snow Suspension. :) I'll probably try to find some narrower tires for more bite though.

It will probably snow 3 times all winter where I live so I gave priority to dry, low temp grip.

It depends on the tire. Snow tires tend to run narrow, race tires tend to run wide. 245/40 Blizzaks are only .3 inches wider than 225/45 AO48s when mounted on a 7.5 inch wide wheel. A 225/45 Hoosier is even wider than my 245/40 snow tires.

there is no 245 AO48. These are the only sizes:
195/50-16
225/45-17
225/40-18
265/35-18
285/30-18

I use the original winter tire specification as IMHO 195/225 or wider is too wide for winter tires and just a bodge-up from Lotus as they failed to produce the correct wheels for the initial winter tire specification.

On my S2 I run 185/55R15 front and 205/55R16 rear winter tires on custom wheels.

Last winter it handled several inches of snow without problems. I just had to take care that the snow wasn't too deep so it would become a snow-plow..

Bye, Arno.

I run 185/205 on my S1 and it handles snow with no problem. Deep snow is quite fun until it touches the underside of the car when the car just slides along like a sled. Be careful about snow deep enough to go into the nose intake as it ices up the underside of the radiator and then you can overheat.

TripleBlack_NJ,

Nice snow tires. I used to live up north and needed snow tires, now I don't. I would consider those if I had to.

OBTW, will Hoosier 205-16 tires fit in the front?

Wow, I'm really late but...

ToyBox48 has a 111R with A048 in 225f/245r. They make tons of sizes in the A048 but they just don't bring them to the States.
