My wiper arm was too long when I bought my Elise, hitting the body work when resting. I searched what wiper fit best and bought that, but it was still a bit too long. Finally I figured out that the resting position was just too low and was easily able to remove the nut holding the arm in place and shift it slightly up. I may just be too stupid for not realizing this earlier, but I just didn't think about it and searched the site without finding this answer, so I thought I would post. One thing to note is that while the wiper must be down to flip up the cap to expose and unscrew the nut, the wiper must be up to pull off the arm to reposition it.

Excellent question. I'm just assuming that the setpoint for the motor may have changed as I've since heard people say happens sometimes.

Interesting. I probably wouldn't have looked at that first as well. At least you got a new wiper lol.
