I just installed the smaller 75mm (12 psi) pulley (used to have 82mm @10psi) and 2Bular SC header and de-cat with BOE Silent touch exhaust on my REV 400 Elise.

I am absolutely blown away with the performance increase! its honestly like night and day difference.

It pulls SO much harder and cleaner, torque and HP has increased dramatically, so happy with the upgrade. Yesterday out ran a modified 700HP 911 Turbo 3rd gear roll on! he said he gave it all it had.

The exhause setup i had before was Larini de-cat, stock headers and stage 2 muffler it was crazy loud but restrictive, upgraded to the 2Bular SC headers, 2Bular de-cat and BOE Silent touch muffler is much quieter inside the car, still a great sound though and much better flow.

The 2 extra psi obviously helped with the smaller pulley, im my opinion this is how it should be. Im sure its not as good on internals compared to the 10psi if you track it every week etc and clutch if your drag racing but I DONT CARE!, im careful with how a treat the trans and clutch and if it eventually goes pop that its just something i will have to make better.

This power is like a drug!! im just laughing out loud now when i drive this BEAST!!

Nice! Are you on stock internals? How much WHP should you be making? That's pretty impressive to outrun that porsche.:)

No video of this win unfortunately, all I did was wind out 3rd, happened way to quick.

Yes stock internals, i think making aprox 375-385hp. Will dyno it at some time.

is there any guide line for what boost a stock motor can run, and not kill long term reliability?

12PSI seems like its getting up there. But it also sounds fun.

In my opinion it is at the limit ofthe stock pistons at 11.5:1 CR. I'm not tracking it all the time maybe 1-2 a year if i was tracking it all the time i would probably run at 10psi. If you run it a little on the safe rich side and run a little conservative on the timing it will help.

Rods and bottom end can handle it, clutch and trans are borderline, we will see. I'm not doing drag launches and slamming gears, that helps a little.

But I don't care because its so crazy fast.

As far a price I think the Rev 400 kit is $6-7 k I can't remember plus another $2k in exhaust and pulley, catch can so close to $10k.

Regarding wheel HP probably 310 a 320 ish based on butt dyno, maybe a little more?

there are several permutations of the tune (apparently up to and including Pulley as we see here) for the various Rev kits depending on your intake, exhausts, presence of a cat or not, and motor build, even general usage requirements. I think i recall reading a thread where phill mentioned he'll wire the IC fans up a little differently if it's a track focused car vs. street. (Well, the rev400 comes with Phil's 3" diameter intake, so there's no option there that i'm aware of)

If you personally don't need the programming cable (in that a shop is doing all the work for you) then you can also potentially get some discount on the kit without the cable as well.

I think running any car with decent extra power oughta have a fuel solution because it's been said by several people that fuel starve is MUCH harder on the motor than on N/A engines. And you are going to run through a tank of gas MUCH faster on track than with n/a power... meaning you might not realize how low your fuel gets until it's too late.

My REV400 with the big pulley (10 psi?) is making 336.4 to the crank, 292 hp to the wheels. I have the stock cat, stock mani and the BOE ST like you. I did the clutch & surge tank also. My car is fast with that setup, really fast, but your post has me thinking.....
How much work is it to swap pulleys? I'm assuming a new tune from Phil also? Or are you still on your old tune?

It cost $99 for the 75mm pulley, i used the same belt. I have the Kold Fire Cable so i re-flashed it myself with the standard REV 400 tune and reset the ECU (to clear all the learned stuff and stored knock sensor stuff) AFR's looked great, @ 11.5-1. They used to be around low 10's.

However personally I think you may be pushing it a little with the stock cat at the higher boost / air flow level, dont know how much it can flow? just my opinion. I would think a 200cel cat would be a good idea.

Before the upgrade from standard red pulley @ 10psi (82mm I think?) the stock clutch did fine!. Now after i upgraded to the 12 psi 75mm pulley, header, de-cat, silent touch muffler system it now slips the crap out of it in 3rd and 4th!! Having my new ACT clutch and lightweight flywheel installed next week.

I think the 2Bular Header also made a HUGE difference, the stock 1.5" header is way too restrictive for this kind of flow. Just my opinion.

sure - i would be doing the manifold and cat delete also. Your car must be wild because mine is really good. So - you backed up your tune before you started, via your Koldfire cable & laptop, did the pulley swap, and reflashed after resetting the ecu? I have the cable also.

winding it out in 3rd running a rev400 is a magical thing. Turns just about any car in your rear view mirror into a teensy-weensy dot.

You realize the higher AFRs are more dangerous (especially under boost), right?

i respect this line of thought. I'm going to stand pat with my stock pulley and 10? pounds of boost? Still makes 292 to the wheels with the cat. Stick with the way Phil and Andrew delivered the car..
