On the eBay listing there's a link to the guy's website. Unbelievable work; I can't imagine that level of fanaticism. I think $20K might be a bargain.

That's the kind of thing you buy, put in a display case, then you kick it and the wife winds up selling it for 50 cents at a yard sale.

Good luck. If you pay yourself $0.01/hr you might make a profit. :)
I read an interview of Andy Mathews and the time he spent on these models was enormous and to sell it at $20,000 was not even breaking even.
It's more about an obsession to his art than making a profit.

I remember reading about a guy that had a dream to own a Ferrari so over 20+ years he made his own fully working Ferrari. At the time I calculated that if he spent that time working at $7 per hour he would have been able to buy a new Ferrari instead of making his 10th scale working(engine and all) replica.

Are you sure that's not the Basement Countach guy, or are there more of those stories?

Anyway I'm pretty happy with my $100 Lotus 49...
