Updated pics of the restoration. A few bits to finish up (brake lines/alignment/paint) and then it's ready to hit the track.

The motor is the original Cortina block. Accepted with any race organzation.

I will be posting it for sale later today. Price is 28,500 with three sets of wheels/tires (new) and other spares. Can still be painted as desired until Wednesday.

On to the 49 !!!!!

 

A couple more. In some of the pictures you may notice bolts loose on the suspension . Done on purpose until after alignment and corner weights are set.

 

A few bits to finish up and the Lotus is done ! A virtually new 1969 FF, accepted in any vintage racing group. $ 28,500

Sorry, not much progress on the 49. I'll hit it hard this winter and hope to have it on wheels by the spring. I have managed to source the correct Cosworth DFV and a few other original bits.

I got sidetracked doing 2 more 61's. Here's a photo of each, kinda looks like I'm turning into a one trick pony !

By the way, the 61 in the top photo is available if anyone's looking for a nice vintage FF.

Hi i dont know how old you posy is but can you help me, im attempting to make a junier size 49 would you have a flat plane (before the body is rounded) of the side only and posibly the rivet patern

 

Some of you may remember the 49 recreation I was working on a few years ago. Like most, life got in the way of the project and although I have made some progress, I am still a long way away from completing it.

I did just finish another car and I hope it's okay to post this picture, if not I will take it down. This is the latest, a Gurney Eagle F1 tribute car and I also have another, a 250 SWB that I'm about halfway through with.

Would also be great to hear more about the processes, did you make mold, what metal for frame/chassis.

It's been done. Lotus 38 replica, full monocoque with a 5L Ford V8. Built from scratch by Ben Beames. He also built a full tub Ford GT40 of his own.

 

The Gurney tribute is a semi monocoque, built to replicate the first Eagle, which was a Coventry Climax 4 cylinder. The car is scratch built, and I'm putting the finishing touches on it, such as a rear engine cover. Here are a couple more pics.
