Brake pad recommendations

If you have the AP's front and rear, it is SUUUPER easy to swap pads. 5-8 track days a year is enough to warrant putting on track pads for track days. I'd recommend you put cheap no-name pads on the rear and good ones on the front for the street, as i think you'll have too much rear bias for regular street driving. For track I think its likely you'll end up with too much rear bias no matter what pads you pick having the same calipers front and rear, but let us know your experience.

CP5316 is a decent option if you have the coin. I'll say up front that for your use case I don't think changing the brake bias is going to come anywhere close to being a game changer, but again, share after you've given it a shot :)

I'm kinda surprised to see you've been going to the track since 2002, if I had been going that long and had showed up with a more street compromise pad I think i'd end up frustrated from poor braking performance. shrug

Its true that the light chassis does translate into decreased cost of consumables. Even though lotus is a parts bin company, they didn't put massive brakes on the car so when you start using them on track they're going to heat up.

The two biggest differences for me on my car (that I consider "in the spirit of stock") were an alignment/corner balance, and brake pads. Even as someone new to the track (and thus less able to notice nuance) they made a huuuge difference.

good deal. Not really a mod but given the model year, keep the fuel level up if you don't have a fuel solution and are on sticky tires. Stock fuel pickup is on the left side of the tank.
