Lotus engineering's engine simulation software, previously limited to a single cylinder engine, is now freeware for multiple cylinders.

Lotus Engine Simulation – Freeware

A freeware multi-cylinder version of Lotus Engine Simulation is available to download and run without the need of a license file. This replaces the previous freeware version that was limited to single cylinder models only (updated Jan 2020).

Thanks for this. I didn't even know Lotus published software.

I did an engine simulation for a Ural-sidecar motorcycle. I am interested in how to increase the power of the engine with a different intake and exhaust system, with other intake and exhaust pipes. A year ago I made (calculated and made) a homemade air box with bells according to Gordon Blair's book "Design and Simulation of for-strore Engines". Mass air flow increased, I had to raise the needles on the carburetors. But the motorcycle began to consume less gasoline. Increased volumetric efficiency. For engine simulation I use empirical coefficients from Gordon Blair's book. I have an old-style engine, 666cc, bore/stroke 79/68. I also have a new 750cc engine bore/stroke 78/78 engine. I want to design a 2-in-1 exhaust manifold for a sidecar and make my own stainless steel manifold. I have a tig-welder and I can weld metal. You need to take a graph of valve lift / crankshaft angle yourself. 2 micrometric indicators on the valves and graduated (angular degrees) cardboard disk on the clutch flywheel. Turn the flywheel 2 turns (720 angular degrees) and record the readings of the micrometric indicators (intake and exhaust valve lift). But this new 750cc engine needs to be assembled, it is completely disassembled. This is not a problem for me, I am an excellent motorcycle mechanic.
