This was a 2.5yr rebuild project that I've nearly completed. I've got a build log on the Lotus Forum but realized I haven't really shared it on here, most kept it on social media/ IG posts. Long story short - bought a v8 Esprit with a turd of a motor in it. Went to do a quick rebuild then got bit by the idea of why not just take it to a point no one else has 🤷‍♂️
Goal was to keep it looking stockish, sort of OEM+. Original engine/trans but added performance and reliability. Last things to do before its drivable are get the clutch rebuilt to handle the additional torque (thought it was only going to be in the high 500s) and then modify the front suspension to accommodate the wider wheel track.
Here is a video of the car On the dyno but not the max power run. As you can see from the dyno graph the clutch couldn't hold past 632ft tq. So will get it back on the dyno once the clutch is rebuilt and upgraded some more to see if we can get close to 700 maybe 🤷‍♂️
I do have a build thread on The Lotus Forum that I started late in the project, so sort of a look back. I thought it would be a better record of it for the long run than social media.
