Does anyone know of a way to convert NURBS surfaces into a format like IGES or STEP?
edit: Maya should be able to output an IGES file - which is just another way to describe a NURBS surface. The file on the site shown is a Maya Binary, so if you have Maya you're all set. If you don't, I do - I can convert it, but I ain't buying it. ;)

If the software you're using doesn't support NURBS, the model can be tesselated into polygons and saved as IGES or DXF or something similar. That I can do as well.

I wouldn't want polygons...I'd be looking for smooth, unbroken surfaces. The software is Pro/Engineer, capable of reading most formats, but I've never used it for NURBS and it doesn't appear to offer that capability.

I keep asking myself what I'd actually DO with this file if I purchased it, and the answer is always the same - spend hours in front of the computer spinning it around and staring at it. :>
